I currently live and work in Florence, Italy. My family is originally from the United States, but I was raised abroad, in Saudi Arabia. I have a very open and embracing view of the world, and enjoy traveling and learning new languages and cultures. I love my job, take great pride in my students' success, and believe that what I do makes a difference. I am a dynamic person who firmly believes that the classroom (physical or virtual) must be a safe place where students can experiment, make mistakes and learn from them. By giving my students the language skills they need, I providing them with another mechanism by which they can communicate. Teaching a language opens up their world to one in which they can connect with people from different countries and cultures, a phenomenon that otherwise might not be available to them. I also have a degree in voice performance where I specialized in classical music. My hobbies are playing soccer, running, dance, and spending time on the beach.

Master in Education - Language, Teaching and Curriculum with a focus in TESOL (University of Missouri at Columbia) BA (Boston College) TESOL Certificate (Boston Language Institute)

I have been teaching ESL/EFL since 2002. Much of my teaching experience took place at corporations for their employees of all levels (dependents to CEO), such as Celine, Trenitalia, Carapelli, aei progetti, Arval, Le Poste Italiane, Deutche Bank and Nikon to mention a few. I have also taught in higher academic settings. In addition to my work at Myngle, I teach at the University of California Los Angeles, where I am an instructor for their online academic writing courses, as well as for the Business for Professional series. In the past, I worked in L.A. at the Academic Intensive English Program preparing international students for American university. I am specialized in academic and professional writing. I am also very interested in content-language teaching and believe that customizing a language course for the learner based on his/her interest is the best way to learn a language. I am also very involved in curriculum development and create many of my own materials. I employ the communicative approach to language learning and create a positive and effective classroom.
